We envision being salt and light to our community — engaging our community through a loving presence and impacting lives through practical acts of kindness which in turn open the door to the gospel message. As the saying goes, people don’t care what you know until they know that you care. So, ultimately, we envision church and kingdom growth through gospel-sharing opportunities, all for the honor and glory of God.
To glorify God by impacting our community with Christlike love and the gospel.
Here are the different ways you may be able to get involved:
Caring for the Poor
Once a month we partner with God’s Extended Hand and San Diego Rescue Mission in Downtown San Diego to minister to the homeless. We provide a worship service, prepare food, and serve meals with love and compassion.
A prayer quilt is smaller in size than a bed quilt. It is considered a lap quilt tied with heavy thread. These threads are tied with a square knot by members of the congregation. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is offered for someone in special need. The quilt is a gift of love and prayer. It is a statement of our faith in God and our belief in His power to comfort, strengthen, and heal. A quilt, no matter how simple, is a gift from the heart; and the gift is not about the quilt, it’s about the prayers. Please consider tying a knot and lifting a prayer for someone in need the next time a prayer quilt is available after a worship service!
Public School Campus Outreach
During the school year, we reach out to Grossmont High School and Helix High School through weekly club gatherings to share the love of Christ and build relationships with young people in our local community.
Ministry to Senior Citizens
- Assisted Living Outreach: Chapel services every Friday morning at The Montera
- County Mental Health: Afternoon service on the 1st Sunday of every month
- Alzheimer’s Care: Once a month outreach at LifeHouse San Diego.
In addition to the above ministries, there are weekly hospital and skilled nursing facility visitations. Click on the “Senior” tab for more information.
We are involved in ongoing work in a village in the bush of West Africa. In this village we work with an organization whose goal is to plant indigenous churches in the villages. We are in the midst of a roughly 5 year relationship with our adopted village, in which we attempt to visit our village every year or so with a team from our church. Furthermore, we financially support the ongoing work of the ministry in the village, and we continually pray for the needs (spiritual and physical) of the village.
