Sunday Follow-Up on John 3.1-21 October 13, 2014

This last Sunday we learned about the new birth in Jesus Christ as explained in Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus in John 3.1-21.  What a wonderful and crucial passage!  Here are the notes from Sunday: John 3 1-21 Insert.

I also recommended a book on the new birth.  It is called Finally Alive: What Happens When We Are Born Again and is written by John Piper.  There is a lot of wonderful truth in the pages of this book about what it means to be born again.

I am looking forward to continuing to work through John together next Sunday.

Sunday Follow-Up September 22, 2014

This last Sunday we looked at John 1.35-51 where we learned about how 5 of Jesus’ disciples came to Him.  In looking at this text we discovered several truths about followers of Jesus Christ.  Here are the sermon notes/discussion questions: John 1 35-51 Insert.

Also, don’t forget that there are now numerous booklets out in the lobby that cover multiple topics, and provide biblical and wise counsel.  All of the booklets are provided by an organization called the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) which is the pastoral counseling ministry out of Westminster Seminary Philadelphia.  Keep in mind that these booklets are not exhaustive by any means, and they are not meant to overly simplify issues that can be very complex.  They are simply meant to provide an entry-point into some godly thinking about certain areas of life that can be very difficult.  The booklets are FREE, so help yourselves.  If you want numerous copies of one of the booklets, please let me know, and I can get those for you.
