This last Sunday we looked at Matthew 7.7-11 where Jesus commands us to ask, seek, and knock, and our Heavenly Father will give us good gifts. Jesus commands us to keep seeking the Lord in prayer, because only through His power can we be the Kingdom people that we are called to be as new creatures in Christ. We will seek the Lord in prayer the more we truly believe that our Heavenly Father gives us good gifts. While we may struggle to believe that God’s gifts are always good, we are called to have faith in this wonderful truth.
In the sermon we saw that as kingdom people we must:
- Continue in prayer.
- Count on on our Heavenly Father.
Here are the discussion questions from Sunday’s bulletin: Matt. 7.7-11 Notes.
Next Sunday we will take a week off from the Sermon on the Mt as Steve Sammons, one of our church’s missionaries, will be preaching.
